When I see patients recover from discomfort, when they are eager to get back to their work, when they show great positive attitude towards their health and life, and when I am able to say, “You have responded well to treatment, and now I can release you from care.”
I believe in strategising a win/win solution for everyone. This is always dynamic, and it is best when I can discuss strategies in managing cases with clients. This can progress into helping workers get the optimum care, and helping to improve and fulfil client’s requirements. Therefore, communication is the key for this to be successful.
Being onsite is a great experience, and being offsite is just as rewarding. I have learned so much in the past months, working on task analysis. I have learnt the nature of work and movements involved, giving me a good understanding and visual of what these “industrial athletes” are doing daily. I enjoy knowing this information, as it can help me create a rehabilitation plan for a worker, when needed.
The most effective way for me to stay healthy, is to have my regular dose of football (soccer) every week! It gets my body and mind working. I also stay mentally healthy when I coach the girls soccer team, as it feels good to extend my football knowledge and experiences to the younger generation. One of my family’s goals is to go for a hike every weekend, getting the joints oiled and some adventure for the kids. Oh, and, “an orange a day also keeps the doctor away!”
