Mental Health First Aid Training
Delivered by our accredited trainers, this Mental Health First AidĀ course will teach you and your team how to provide initial support to other adults who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis.
This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

Course formats
Blended
- Half day face-to-face training
- 5-7 hours of self-paced elearning
- Both course components to be completed within a 3 month period
- Maximum of 22 participants
- Minimum of 6 participants
Blended online
- 2 x 2.5 hour sessions instructor-led video conferencing
- 5-7 hours self-paced interactive elearning
- Both course components are to be completed within a 3 month period
- Classes of 6-12 participants
Standard
- 12 hours in-classroom course (not including breaks) delivered over 2 sessions
- We recommend a gap of no more than two weeks between sessions
- Maximum of 22 participants per course

Evaluations consistently show that mental health first aid training is associated with improved knowledge of mental illnesses, their treatments and appropriate first aid strategies, and confidence in providing assistance to individuals with mental illness.
